Just Like Mom and Dad

Toddlers learn by imitating. Alex saw dad looking out at the boats with the binoculars and thought he would give it a try. But, look closely: he's got the binoculars backwards! He must be thinking, "I'm sure I saw Dad doing this, but why?"

On another day, we were outside and heard music coming from somewhere far away. Andrea and I held up our hands to shield our eyes from the sun as we looked off in the distance. Alex wanted to see too. So he stood up on his chair and raised his hand just like mom and dad did. He wasn't even shielding his eyes at all. But, to him it seemed, the way you find something off in the distance is by raising your hand up to your head and then look.

So cute!
