Talking

It's hard to say what his first word was but somewhere along the way, the babbling has become talking.

In the first picture, Alex says, "All done." We had taught him a bit of sign language which he used before he spoke. But, here he says the words and makes the sign for "all done" telling us that he is done eating.

In the second picture, he waits at the top of the stairs and says, "Dah." This is how he says "down" which he also uses when he doesn't want to be carried anymore. We keep a gate at the top of the stairs so we can supervise him going down. He usually makes it on his own but once in a while we have to catch him.

Other words he uses are: Mama, Dada, up, water (wawa), no, more, dog, tiger, bath, bear, rocks, chess, milk, cheese, run, and I am sure I am forgetting a few. Then there are all the words he can repeat but we don't know if he really knows what he's saying.
