New Zealand

New Zealand reaches as far South as Toronto is North. We toured the South Island in a camper van in September 2003 after our whirlwind tour of Australia.

We saw beautiful mountains, fields of sheep, glaciers, cows, more scenery, and more sheep. We didn't get to New Zealand's biggest city of Aukland but we did visit Christchurch, a nice medium sized town on the South Island.

Advertisements for tourism in New Zealand often tout the extreme adventure activities (bungy jumping, sky diving, fast boats on small rivers). We preferred to enjoy the beauty of the landscape, driving and hiking to all the best spots.
