Here’s another view from a few nights ago when I was up at “oh dark thirty”. It was worth it to me, although I think it took me two days to fully recover.

In The Woodlands United Methodist Church, there are several sanctuaries. This tiny room holds about 20 people. As you sit in the candle light, you can hear far off Gregorian chants.

The bridge at the Woodlands Waterway is nicely lit up for the holidays. Also, the trees all along the waterway are meticulously decorated with lights wrapping the trunks and spreading up into the tree. It’s a great place for a peaceful evening stroll.

I ventured out to try some night photography. The Woodlands is VERY quiet at night. I put the tripod in the road and left it sitting there for five minutes taking shots. I never even heard a car much less had one drive by and interrupt me. No people. No animals. Just me and the stars.

Winter in The Woodlands, Texas looks more like Autumn where I grew up. The trees change colors very slowly. It almost seems like it’s one tree at a time.

Merry Christmas! This ornament is one of our prettiest. It’s delicate and intricate. It’s metal but you can see through it. Lastly, I’m sure it reminds Andrea of home in Canada. I hope you have a great day wherever you are.

The Woodlands has a great concert venue. It’s an amphitheater called The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. We attended concerts by the Houston Symphony and by “Maroon 5″, Train, and John Mayer that filled it to it’s 17,000 capacity. Most recently, we went there for a Children’s festival.
This picture shows the canopy over the seats. At the end of the Children’s Festival day, I managed to get this shot before they kicked us out.

My two boys and I went wandering around with our cameras in the forest. The terrain her provided an excellent setting for their impromptu adventure playing. Which was a perfect time for me to set up a nice shot. The trunk of these “Bald Cypress” trees flare out in cool patterns. Also, those “knees” sticking up next to them are part of the tree.

Hidden between a bridge and an office building was a pretty little creek with clear water trickling through. It was a warm day with a breeze making the flag fly. A good day in The Woodlands, TX.
