Labor Day 2009 was a big day for Alex. He tried riding his bike for the first time without training wheels and he got to try fishing for the first time.

The biking went well. He went farther each time but still only gets about 30 feet before falling.

Fishing was fun. He caught his first fish in about one minute. He wasn't afraid to hold it either. Of course they were all no more than six inches long. It was a perfect first fishing experience. Lots of fish just waiting for us to drop our line in. We caught about five fish in all.

In the second picture, Alex wanted to feed the fish to a nearby blue heron. And, the bird wanted the fish - but Alex ran toward the bird and the bird never came back.

The third picture is probably the first picture Alex ever took of me. Very fun!
