Waves in a Washington Storm

More waves in the washington Storm

Grounded Seagulls

Washington Winter Storm

In February 2006, we had the worst storm in Northwest Washington in 7 years. The wind gusts were up to 60 mph blowing over our basketball net. We were without power for more than a day. But, the power company got things up and running in time for us to watch the SuperBowl.

In the first picture, the waves crashed against the retaining wall down the street. Waves washed all the way over the roof of the two storey apartment buildings.

Some of the logs that washed up are probably fallen trees and others may have fallen off local logging barges.

In the last picture, even the seagulls won't take to the air. When they try, they just get blown backward. Also, in the background, the new dock that was just put in is now a sunken wreck!
